Paintings from the Atlantic coasts of Maine and England and the Pacific coasts of Oregon and California
2020 - 2019
These paintings were started in July 2019 while being solitary and living in the northern woods along the Atlantic coast of Maine. The paintings then continued their journey over three weeks from southern California up to northern Oregon along the Pacific coast. In late February and early March, and then again in early July, 2020, the paintings were continued along the Atlantic coast of Cornwall, England. These paintings have not been stitched together from individual paintings as in early works, rather, exploring the notions and experiences of palingenesis, one singular piece of canvas was subject to being painted on and over during the journeys from place to place, coast to coast.
Documentation photos below taken by myself along the Atlantic and Pacific coasts of Maine, Cornwall, California and Oregon.
