A Painting that Went 27 Feet In the Pacific Ocean

2015. Wood, acrylic paint, rope and iron. 28 feet fully extended. 71 inches x 68 inches at installation.

At 28 feet of length fully extended with an iron weight at one end, the painting has enough gravitational mass upon it in the water to bring it upright and balanced with one end pointing to the mysterious abyss and the other end toward the sky. Exploring the forces of an object in the universe, yin and yang, the movements of energy, presence and absence,  time and space, where does a painting start and end.
